Galvanneal is a galvanized steel that looks and feels like galvanized steel. It is most closely related to hot-dip galvanizing. Galvanneal steel is produced by immersing the material in a zinc alloy liquid bath. This zinc hews to the surface without affecting the metallurgical properties of the zinc layer or steel. This is the simplest form of the hot-dip galvanizing process.

Galvannealed steel, when combined with paint and primer, provides enhanced corrosion protection and is highly resistant to paint peeling and blistering. Products made from Galvannealed steel include household appliances, components of a vehicle, and exterior building elements, such as covers, partitions, roof decking, and cabinets.
